Finals day at the Vans Hawaiian Pro saw young guns rise to the occasion, left former world champions off the podium and awarded Frederico Morais his first career win in a World Surf League Championship Tour round. Clean swells blessed competitors throughout the final day, resulting in intense back and forth battles at the top of the leaderboard.
Overall winner, Frederico had his hands full the entire day after stellar performances from runner-up Leonardo Fioravanti and 11x world champion Kelly Slater saw him drop in the points, forcing Morias to dig deep and pull off consistent run after consistent run. But when it was all over, the Portuguese surfer was crowned champion. Take a look at the top waves from finals day at the Hawaiian Pro featuring runs from Frederico Morais, Leonardo Fioravanti, Kelly Slater and Michel Bourez.
